I am an attorney in Lodi, CA, practicing primarily in estate planning, trusts, wills, conservatorships, guardianships and probate law for over 30 years.

"Estate planning" is your plan for management of your assets during your life as well as your plan for naming who you want to receive your assets after you die with the least efforts on their part. Everyone's future is uncertain at best. With a plan in place, your planning is changeable once created so it is important not to have a period of your life with no plan in place. Contact us at (209) 368-7290 to schedule a no-obligation, free consultation to consider your life and possessions and a plan specifically for you.

A mere possibility, such as the expectancy of an heir apparent, Is not to be deemed an interest of any kind.

Estate Planning

Everyone essentially has an "estate" -- it is your car, home, rental properties, investments, life insurance, bank accounts, digital assets, and life possessions. Making a plan for how your estate is distributed and to whom ensures that your heirs take minimum steps to pass your estate to them without the extreme California probate court expense that is necessary otherwise.

Your "estate plan" is a plan that is amendable during your lifetime. There are documents included that even manage while you are living, in the event of your disability .... powers of attorney for asset management and health care directives. The overarching goal is to protect your assets while you are living and make sure that your wishes are carried out after you die so that your loved ones have an easier and less expensive manner to maximize assets passed on. Since no one knows when they'll die, and 70% of us will become incapacitated in some manner before we die, once one becomes incapacitated he or she most likely will be unable to do any planning at all.     Please don't leave matters with NO plan in place.
